Ministers are currently considering a request by the above three colleges to approve the colleges' intention to merge.
Ministers consulted (December 2009-February 2010) on the principle of this merger. Since then a number of further representations have been made on the merger proposal.
In view of the public interest in the merger, Ministers have decided to publish the main representations which have been made. These are being given close consideration by Ministers, who have indicated that they will announce their decision on the merger on 1 September 2010.
Ministers have said that they remain open to any further representations which may be received prior to 1 September.
