Renfrewshire Council is situated to the west of Glasgow and contains a population of 169,590. Renfrewshire is Scotland's ninth largest council covering 261 square kilometres; including significant urban population centres and a number of more rural areas. There are 65 publicly funded schools, including 51 primaries, 11 secondaries and 3 special schools. 24,543 pupils attend these schools, including 13,017 primary pupils, 11,208 secondary pupils and 318 special needs pupils.
