East of Scotland Objective 2 programme 2000-2006
The East of Scotland - this programme will deliver some €650 (approx. £444m) of support, including an EU contribution of €256m (approx 174.7m). The region has a resident population of over 1.2 million, set against a landscape of agricultural land, fishing communities, established industries, commercial areas and a boundary line lying across the Cairngorm mountains, resulting in one of the most diverse areas in the European Union.
