Structural Funds Post 2006

smallflag1The current Structural Funds Programming period ends in 2006 and new Structural Funds programmes will be implemented from 2007. Much debate has surrounded the future of Structural Funds in recent years largely because of the enlargement of the EU and the need to divert EU resources to the ten new Member States, many of which have significant economic development needs.

It has been clear for some time that Scotland, like the UK as a whole and other wealthier countries in Western Europe, would receive a significant reduction in funding under the Competitiveness Objective for 2007-13. This page provides an update on the levels of future Structural Funds coming to Scotland, and provides details of the draft 2007-2013 Structural Funds Operational Programmes which are currently available for public consultation.
