PLEASE NOTE: The application form and guidance notes are currently (as at January 2011) being revised and updated versions will appear on this site in the near future. Meanwhile, potential applicants should be aware that new arrangements have been introduced relating to the provision of quotations. Henceforth, applications must be supported by three written quotations for all major items of expenditure for which grant is being sought. Estimates are no longer acceptable. Generally, project applications cannot be accepted without this information and will not be processed. Applicants who encounter difficulty meeting this requirement should submit a written statement setting out clearly the reasons why they cannot provide the necessary quotations - with an indication of the steps taken to do so. This might include providing a copy of an invitation-to-tender along with copies of any responses received. In certain, strictly limited, circumstances applications may be considered without the requisite number of quotations having been submitted. Potential applicants facing such difficulties should contact Scottish Government (see "Contacts" for details) to discuss particular issues relating to this matter but should be aware that a robust case will have to be made before a relaxation of this requirement can be considered.

If applicants wish to engage a contractor or purchase equipment based on any quotation other than the least expensive a full explanation must be provided.
