This preliminary consultation was the first stage in our 2005-06 fundamental review of the Renewables Obligation (Scotland) Order. Amongst other things, it invited views on how the ROS might provide more support for emerging technologies, and on amending the current definition of energy crops. It should have been read and responded to in conjunction with the issues raised in the equivalent DTI paper which was on the internet at http://www.dti.gov.uk/renewables/renew_2.2.5.htm, and An Analysis into a Proposal for an Amendment to the Renewables Obligation Definition of Energy Crops by IPA Energy Consulting and the Scottish Agricultural College. A summary of responses is available.
