The Scottish Government is committed to developing Scotland's renewable energy resource, and has a target that 31% of whole Scottish electricity demand should be met by renewable generation in Scotland by 2011, rising to 50% by 2020. The Renewables Obligation (Scotland), or ROS, will play a vital role in meeting these targets. The attached consultation document seeks views on the changes to the ROS around the introduction of "banding" and should be read alongside the report Modelling Changes To The Renewables Obligation. The consultation closed on 12 December 2008. This follows the Preliminary Consultation which closed on 4 July 2008.
