Background
At the Town Centres and Local High Streets learning network launch event, we asked delegates to identify their top challenges and issues where the learning network could possibly provide support and guidance.
As a result of this feedback and from ongoing discussions with members - understanding how to manage a town's performance has been identified as a key priority.
We therefore intend to deliver a programme of learning activities over the next 12 to 18 months that will support members to look at the challenges around effective performance management, including: Key Performance Indicators, data collection techniques, data analysis and effectively using data to inform future strategies and evaluating outcomes.
Working Group
As part of the learning programme we are putting together a Working Group of learning network members who have an interest in developing Performance Management frameworks for their town(s).
This facilitated working group is expected to meet quarterly until March 2011 and take a real 'hands-on' approach to performance management in towns. Members will debate the main challenges they would like to focus on and then work together towards a solution.
We expect the first meeting of the Working Group to take place in March.
Are you currently looking to develop a performance management framework for your town(s)? Is this something you have struggled with and would like extra support, both from the learning network and from fellow members?
