Dundee
August 2010
The symposium focused on learning from best practice on better place delivery, spatial planning, climate change and streets, and on bringing this together in the form of a placemaking brief through a workshop session. It facilitated participant groups to develop an outline spatial framework based on streets and public spaces for a greenfield, brownfield and city centre site, building on the brief developed on the previous day. This design workshop followed a masterclass by Klas Tham. The outcomes of the workshop were shared and debated at a design review session. The event was a collaboration between Architecture and Design Scotland, the Scottish Centre for Regeneration, the Improvement Service and the Architecture and Place Division of the Scottish Government.
