Scottish Urban Regeneration Company Case Studies

The Scottish Urban Regeneration Companies (URCs) have set successful placemaking at the heart of their plans. These case studies illustrate how they have delivered the Scottish Government's Designing Places policy.

The case studies were selected to illustrate different scales of place and different points in the placemaking process. This contrast of scales, built work and thinking in progress give a useful picture of the challenge of delivering places where people want to be - in practical terms.

These case studies were developed by Smith Scott Mullan, Architecture and Design Scotland, and the Scottish Centre for Regeneration, in conjunction with the six URCs.
