Outcome Focused Partnerships

The public sector needs to focus on the achievement of priority outcomes, delivered in more innovative and cost effective ways. Central to this is the need to re-assess traditional approaches to partnership working. At best, partnership working is a means to an end and it can no longer just be seen as the default response. In short, the public sector now needs to become much more 'hard nosed' about partnership working and what it actually delivers.

The workshop drew upon a review of academic literature as well as practical experience of working across a range of local partnerships in helping them redesign their approach around key outcomes.

It is the second in a series delivered under the Improvement Service and Scottish Centre for Regeneration project, 'Embedding an Outcomes Approach in Tackling Poverty and Working Regeneration'. Whilst that project is principally concerned with poverty/regeneration outcomes, this workshop focuses more generally on the broader issues relating to partnership working.
