In this harsh economic climate regeneration practitioners are being challenged to provide convincing evidence and arguments to justify projects and interventions. In this environment it is useful to know what works and how to use the evidence available to put forward a robust, balanced case. Delegates at this event in Aberdeen looked at case studies of how this has been done successfully, from local, regional and national perspectives.

• John Quinn, Head of Regeneration and Housing Investment, Aberdeen City Council on his knowledge and experience of how to best present the rationale for regeneration
• Sandy Murray, Chief Executive of Tenants First Housing Cooperative and lead partner for the successful Café Connect project in Fraserburgh. Sandy discussed his experience of engaging with, and presenting evidence to, local authority stakeholders
• Ian Manson, Chief Executive of Clyde Gateway Urban Regeneration Company highlighted the importance of constructing a robust case for large-scale regeneration initiatives to regional, national and EU bodies
