Better Community Engagement

The resources in this section are designed to act as guidance for practitioners and other stakeholders in various aspects of learning for community engagement. As such they are more substantial resources than the Materials Section but may also include practical resources such as handouts and programmes within their overall content.

Learning Needs Analysis

A variety of methods have been used to identify learning needs amongst the range of stakeholders in community engagement. These resources have been designed to help with this process and generally take the Better Community Engagement Curriculum Framework and its elements, as their starting point.

Shared Learning Approaches

A recurring feature of the BCE programme was the opportunity for participants in community engagement to come together to share learning, reflect on practice and develop ideas to shape future practice. There were various methods used and the following resources describe these in some detail. Training for Trainers

As a natural extension of shared learning approaches, cascading of learning throughout organisations and partnerships is best supported through utilising a training for trainers model. The resources here were developed as part of the BCE programme in East Renfrewshire and in Edinburgh.
