Contribution to NPF Strategy	Encourages a sufficient supply of homes which are affordable and in places where people want to live. Supports strong, sustainable growth for the benefit of all parts of Scotland,
Milestones	2009 onwards - Deliver in line with Government's planning policy for housing through the preparation of development plans, Local Housing Strategies, Strategic Housing Investment Plans, masterplans, development briefs and development management decisions and consider the need for environmental assessment, appropriate assessment and detailed scheme level mitigation at plan or project level.
Lead Partner(s)/Delivery Bodies	Planning Authorities, Strategic Development Planning Authorities Scottish Government (Housing and Regeneration Directorate, Directorate for the Built Environment), utility companies, developers, Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (CoSLA).
Progress	The Innovation and Investment Fund for 2011-2012 aims to allow all suppliers to build new affordable housing. It is split into three funding streams: Council house building (social rent); Registered social landlord (RSL) building (primarily for social rent but can include other elements of affordable housing); and Innovation Fund open to all providers (for all forms of affordable tenure). Following bids to the fund, the first and second tranches of successful bids to each of the funding streams have been announced and can be viewed on the Scottish Government website : http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/Built-Environment/Housing/investment/innovationfund
