Milestones2009 onwards - Planning and delivery of reinforcements including environmental assessment and appropriate assessment t o define mitigation and compensation measures to protect Natura 2000 sites, biodiversity, including siting and design, minimise effects on communities, known and the historic environment, landscapes, soil, water and an assessment of carbon impacts.

Progress

SPT Networks is working with East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire Councils on consent for the reinforcement and intends to submit an application to the Scottish Government for consent under Section 37 of the Electricity Act.

Reinforcement work could be complete by 2013. Projects making uses of this reinforcement would be connected in 2014.
