Detailed planning applications for the first two phases (of eleven) of the Leith Docks development have been submitted. Pre-application consultation has been carried out in advance of an application for a biomass generating station. Some residential, commercial and retail developments including two supermarkets, a new College campus and a public park have been completed Summer, 2011- Edinburgh Waterfront regeneration - An application has been lodged by Forth Energy for a biomass energy plant in Leith docks under section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989. November, 2011 - Forth Ports, Scottish Enterprise and Edinburgh City Council conducting technical and feasibility studies to help form future plans for the port, taking into account the current economic challenges and opportunities and planning, feasibility and design work and, where appropriate, unlocking derelict and redundant land for economic development. |
