Milestones

2009 onwards - Reflect revised Cairngorms National Park Designation Order in the preparation of development plans, national park plan and associated action programmes, partners' plans and programmes and development management decisions. Consider potential effects of increased recreation on the environment, and potential requirements for visitor management to mitigate impacts on Natura 2000 sites.

ProgressThe Scottish Government laid in the Scottish Parliament on June 18, 2010, draft orders to modify the boundary of the Cairngorm National Park and to deal with the resulting electoral arrangements. It is expected that the orders will come into effect October 2, 2010.
