| Milestones | 2009 onwards - Secure planning permission for and deliver the Bio-Quarter masterplan and necessary off-site transport and environmental infrastructure improvements. Consider the need for environmental assessment, appropriate assessment and detailed scheme level mitigation at plan or project level. 2010 onwards - Promote the successful delivery of a 8,500 sq m building on site incorporating incubation and commercial space for Life Sciences companies through the joint working of the development partners. Secure planning permission for and deliver the BioQuarter Expansion Masterplan and necessary off-site transport and environmental infrastructure improvements. |

| Progress | May 2010 - the flagship £59 million Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine will open in 2011. Significant progress is being made with the delivery of a flood management scheme, public transport link and landscape setting for the site Funding secured for a specialist £24 million bioincubator facility. Further expansion land is being acquired by Scottish Enterprise for the long term growth of the BioQuarter. A world leading Centre for Regenerative Medicine is on track to open in 2011, along with the Anne Rowling MS Research Centre in 2012. A specialist 8500sq m bioincubator facility for commercial life sciences tenants is also in the process of being constructed and marketed. Proposals have been advanced for the development of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children on site and significant progress is also being made on site with the delivery of a flood management scheme and public transport link. Further expansion land has been acquired for the long-term growth of the BioQuarter which is in the process of being masterplanned. A Transport Action Plan is in the process of being finalised and delivered. |
