| Milestones | 2011 - drafting, consultation and adoption of revised Airport Masterplan looking ahead to 2020 and 2040 2009 onwards - implement various works to enhance surface access, including new bus lane to facilitate public transport access to Dyce Drive, new bus stops and shelters, new cycle and motorcycle shelters, Dyce Drive Link Road (associated with A96 park & ride) and upgrade of Dyce Station to full accessibility standards. 2009 onwards - Reflect policy objectives of Air Transport White Paper and airport masterplan in development plans and associated action programmes, regional transport strategy and development management decisions. Consider need for further environmental assessment, appropriate assessment and detailed scheme level mitigation including design, protection of biodiversity, measures to reduce effects on health, air quality, noise, water, soils, landscape and cultural heritage and long term assessment of carbon impacts. Work with air transport operators to minimise emissions by deploying operational and technological measures. |

| Progress | August 2011- The Masterplan steering group met and a revised Masterplan has been published. 20 October 2011 - Masterplan Steering Group due to meet again. 2009 - 2011 - Planning consent granted for runway extension. Recent developments include runway resurfacing, a new multi-storey car park, and a new international walkway. Improved cycling and motorcycling facilities have been implemented with financial support from Nestrans. BAA promoted an order for a bus/taxi lane to facilitate easier public transport access from the airport. Improved bus links to Dyce railway station and Aberdeen city centre have been delivered, along with improved short-term parking facilities. The October 6, 2011 An extension to Aberdeen airport's main runway was opened. The addition to the main runway is a major part of an ambitious scheme to transform Aberdeen Airport into a global gateway for the North east of Scotland. The Aberdeen Local Development Plan Proposed Plan (Sept 2010) presumes in favour of uses associated within the operational land applying to Aberdeen Airport and it's accompanying Action Programme identifies the lead agency and actions and milestones required to deliver the policy. |
