Meeting the Housing Challenge: The Role of the Private Rented Sector

Changes in legislation, the supply of property and the level and nature of demand for housing have led to a revival of the private rented sector in Scotland over the last decade.
With the private rented sector now playing an increasingly important role in the housing market, the Scottish Government is keen to work with stakeholders in order to develop a long term strategic action plan that helps create a high quality, sustainable sector in the future.
Building on the previous work of the Scottish Private Rented Sector Strategy Group, this event was held so as to continue a dialogue with stakeholders and to begin to understand what a strategic action plan for the sector would look like and, more importantly, how it could be implemented.
