The Adaptations Working Group was established in early 2011 to take forward actions from the Wider Planning for an Ageing Population report, relating to:
- streamlining the organisation and funding of housing adaptations services across all housing tenures to improve delivery and reduce delays; and
- enabling older people and disabled people to use their own resources to adapt and improve their housing.
Housing adaptations are important to both older people and disabled people, so the working group includes representatives of both groups.

The group has agreed a set of core principles for the delivery of adaptations. The group is due to report by 30 September 2012.
