All sellers who have placed their house on the market since 1 December 2008 must have a Home Report and provide, upon request, a copy to prospective buyers. Houses that were put on the market for sale prior to 1 December 2008 do not need to have a Home Report. Buyers should also be aware that there are a number of exceptions to the duties to provide a Home Report, including new housing and houses that have been converted.
The Advice section gives information about how to obtain a copy of a Home Report, whether there is any cost to you, together with other information that may be useful to you.
There are three parts of the Home Report: a Single Survey, an Energy Report, and a Property Questionnaire. For more information about them, visit our interactive guide.
If you have more questions about the Home Report please see the FAQs.
