Permitted Development Rights for Microgeneration Equipment on Non-Domestic Properties - Consultation

Thank you for taking the time to consider this consultation paper, your input will be most welcome to ensure that the resultant permitted development rights are fit for purpose.

This consultation sets out the Government's proposals for amending the General Permitted Development (Scotland) Order 1992 to fulfil the requirements of section 71 of the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009. It requires the Scottish Government to provide permitted development rights for the installation, alteration or replacement of microgeneration equipment within the curtilage of a non-domestic building.

The Government is required to bring forward the permitted development rights by 1 April 2011.

The Government is required to notify the European Commission of the proposed permitted development rights, this will be undertaken in the Autumn of 2010.

Please note that the closing date for this consultation is 8 October 2010. There will be no extensions to this date, given the need to notify the European Commission and achieve statutory climate change obligations.

Yours faithfully
