8.0 CONCLUSION
8.1 This SEA has identified that the current operation of the Scottish ferries network results in the emission of CO 2, which has the potential to be significant, and has therefore considered measures for the reduction of such emissions. These measures fall into a wide range of vessel design and operational activities, and may have consequent effects on ferry operation. Accordingly, questions regarding the effectiveness of such measures have been included in the consultation document. The responses will be used in the preparation of the draft Scottish Ferries Plan.
