2. Deprived areas are taken to be the 20% lowest ranked areas in the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation 2006. In 2007 these accounted for 19% of the Scottish population.
3. Entrant figures in the above table for Scottish domiciles may not match figures in other tables as not all postcodes from student records can be matched ( e.g. if they are either incomplete, missing or non-Scottish postcodes) to postcodes in the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation ( SIMD). In 2007-08 99% of entrant postcodes were successfully matched.
