3 Definition: Energy delivered to a building, like gas, oil, electricity, district heat etc.

4 Definition: Primary energy consumption refers to the direct use at the source, or supply to users without transformation, of crude energy, that is, energy that has not been subjected to any conversion or transformation process, e.g. fuel used for electricity generation.

5 Primary energy has been estimated in line with international convention in which the efficiency of non-fossil thermal sources ( i.e. nuclear, biomass) is taken into account in estimating primary supply. Non-thermal electricity sources such as hydro and wind are regarded as primary electricity and are not adjusted for generation efficiency.
