NOTE
This Code is produced in terms of Section 37 of the Animal Health
and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006.
This Section allows the Scottish Ministers, after consultation, to prepare
codes of recommendations for the welfare of livestock.
This Code was laid before Parliament as is required by Section 37 of the above Act.
The power to produce these codes was transferred to the Scottish Ministers
by virtue of Section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 (1998 c.46).
Any reference in this Code to advisory publications is for information only
and does not form part of this Code.
