1 Introduction
The conclusion of the Scottish Sustainable Communities Initiative ( SSCI) has led to 11 projects being recognised as having potential to demonstrate the creation of sustainable communities. This report sets out the Scottish Government's response to the submissions made to the SSCI. It contains an outline of the assessment process followed, presents the findings in relation to each of the projects selected as an exemplar and summarises the 68 submissions received. This report also outlines the development of a programme of targeted support which will be put in place to assist these exemplar projects towards delivery, as well as more general opportunities for dissemination of information, networking and learning opportunities that will be available to anyone proposing development in Scotland.
