ACTION: Raise awareness of current and projected unavoidable impacts of a changing climate in Scotland |
12 | Develop a targeted communications toolkit for local authorities and the business sector ( SMEs) The project will produce a 'toolkit' of materials for key stakeholders, developed to complement the resources available through the Scottish Climate Change Impacts Partnership. The material will highlight the economic value of an early adaptive response and encourage the development of adaptive capacity by improving skills and ensuring climate change is integrated into risk assessments and business planning. Timescale: 2009 |

17 | Support the rollout of Local Climate Impact Profiles ( LCLIPs) to all local authorities The UKCIP developed LCLIPs as a resource for local authorities to compile so that they may better understand their exposure to weather and climate. It is based on evidence of a locality's vulnerability to severe weather events and in particular how these events affected a local community as well as the authority's assets and capacity to deliver services. The Scottish Government will encourage and provide support to Scottish local authorities who wish to complete an LCLIP, providing support networks and training workshops through the SCCIP and the ongoing support programme of the Sustainable Scotland Network.
