The purpose of the research was to conduct a baseline audit of current Scots language provision in Scotland to a) identify where provision currently exists; and b) determine what opportunity may exist to expand provision within the context of the Council of Europe European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages, either as part of, or in addition to, the manifesto commitments the Scottish Government has given to the Scots language.
The consultation seeks views on the draft of Designing Streets as a new planning policy. It incorporates the principles of PAN 76 (New Residential Streets) as well as more comprehensive information and guidance and therefore will supersede PAN 76. Designing Streets is intended to be a companion document to “Designing Places” and aims to apply the principles of good design contained in that policy to both new and wherever possible, existing streets.
