ADULTS WITH INCAPACITY (SCOTLAND) ACT 2000 PART 5 CODE OF PRACTICE

Summary

1. This letter provides the revised Code of Practice for Part 5 of the Act, which deals with medical treatment and research. The Code takes into account changes made to the Act by the Smoking, Health and Community Care Act. The Code is also available electronically at www.scotland.gov.uk/publications/recent

Action

2. Chief Executives are asked to draw the attention of all who have responsibilities for patients who are affected by the Act to the publication of the revised Code.

3. Revised forms of Certificates are available for download at http://www.show.scot.nhs.uk/publications/publication.asp or in paper form from the address opposite.
