Of the total pig batches moved onto islands under the jurisdiction of Argyll and Bute in 2003-2007, >97% were moved from a farm elsewhere in Scotland to a farm on one of the islands. Only 1.3% of the batches originated cross-border. During 2003-2007, only 17 pigs in 2003 were moved onto the islands for slaughter.
