About this Quick Guide
1. This Quick Guide aims to provide readily accessible help on the broad requirements of the Environmental Damage (Prevention and Remediation)(Scotland) Regulations 2008. The Regulations transpose the provisions of the EU Environmental Liability Directive 2004/35/ EC ( ELD) into law in Scotland. The Guide is aimed at those carrying out activities that may cause imminent threats or actual significant damage and others who need a ready reference to the intended operation of the legislation.
