NOTES:

1. The roughly equivalent offences that apply in the rest of the UK (for example, offences under the Children and Young Persons Act 1993 or Infanticide Act 1938) have not been included in the table. However, if anyone was listed in England for one of the offences, they would be barred from working in the relevant workforce in Scotland and vice versa.

2. Those offences listed in rows 1 to 8 are the relevant offences in the Act.

3. Those offences listed in rows 9 to 35 are the Scottish equivalents (or near-equivalents) of offences that, subject to the outcome of consultation, will become automatic barring offences (with the right to make representations) in the rest of the UK. This means that those who are convicted of the offences in England would be added to the children's list and then make their representations. We do not have an equivalent to automatic barring with representations in Scotland. Our nearest procedure is automatic consideration for listing on conviction of a 'relevant offence'.

4. Those offences listed in rows 9 to 17 are mostly against children. Offences in rows 18 to 35 are mostly against adults.
