Introduction

• Please read these notes and keep them safe. You will need to claim under the Less Favoured Area Support Scheme ( LFASS) every year but from LFASS 2008, we will not issue paper explanatory notes. We will show any changes to LFASS arrangements for 2008 and 2009 on the Scotland Rural Development Programme ( SRDP) section of the Scottish Government website.
• You will need to complete a separate application for payment of LFASS 2007, but, from 2008, we plan to include the LFASS application in the Single Application Form ( SAF).
• We have provided a 2007 application form with these notes, but you can also get one from your Rural Payments and Inspections Directorate ( RPID) area office - Annex C lists all our area office addresses and telephone numbers.
• The LFASS 2007 application period runs from 19 October to 16 November 2007. If we receive your application after 16 November you will lose all or part of your LFASS 2007 payment. We will not acceptLFASS 2007 applications we receive after 11 December 2007.
