These were previously called residential care or nursing homes. Living in a care home does not automatically entitle you to help:

• if you are under 60 and getting Income Support;
• if you are 60 or over and getting Pension Credit Guarantee Credit;
• otherwise check to see if you can get help via the NHS Low Income Scheme.
