ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
We are grateful to all of those who contributed to this research, including all of those who experienced domestic abuse, in Glasgow and other areas, who agreed to talk with us about what were often difficult and highly personal experiences. We are also grateful to the other witnesses who offered their views, as well as to the staff and offenders involved in the perpetrator programmes in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee.
Thanks are also due to the stakeholders from all of the organisations involved in planning or implementing the pilot who participated in interviews each year and provided other information. We are very grateful for all of the help which was readily given by the administrative staff in the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service and ASSIST at all stages. We are also grateful to ASSIST for all of their help in seeking consent from service users to participate in interviews.
The provision of statistical information by ASSIST, the Scottish Court Service, and Strathclyde Police, as well as the provision of access to records by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service was also much appreciated.
The input from members of the National Group to Address Violence Against Women who submitted their written comments was also helpful.
We also acknowledge the valuable contributions made by members of the Research Advisory Group at various stages, and the assistance which we received from staff of the Scottish Executive.
A draft of this report was reviewed by two anonymous independent peer reviewers, and we appreciate the contributions made by these individuals.
