Dear Colleague

DELIVERING FOR HEALTH DELIVERING FOR MENTAL HEALTH, THE MENTAL HEALTH OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE: A FRAMEWORK FOR PROMOTION, PREVENTION AND CARE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES CONFERENCE
28 FEBRUARY 2007 - SUMMARY REPORT

I attach a summary report from the above conference which reviewed and addressed next steps to implementation for the agenda for change set out in Delivering for Health, Delivering for Mental Health and The Mental Health of Children and Young People: A Framework for Promotion, Prevention and Care.

Over 140 people attended the Conference which focussed on hearing from those with directly involvement in delivering care about how best to advance change and improvement. The event and the summary report will have lasting value not only in raising awareness but also in terms of forward development and attention to the priority set out in these three documents.

Consideration about 'next steps' continues and of course we will keep you informed of progress. Meantime I recommend the attached outcome report to you and would be happy to hear from you in relation to this agenda and any issues that you might have locally in developing responses to this agenda.

Please bring this letter and the attached report to the attention of all with an interest. The report can also be accessed at: http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/Health/health/mental-health/servicespolicy/latest.

Yours sincerely
