(1) For IACS schemes the figures relate to Oct/Oct year. For agri-environment and afforestation schemes the figures relate to the calendar year.
(2) Expected payments under the PCP for 2004 scheme year amount to £227, while for ECS amount to £19,000.
(3) 2004 SAPS figures includes £3.12m QAPS (Sheep National Envelope) payments.
(4) Area Aid Application ( AAA) base forms also collect information for the livestock schemes. Total numbers of AAA applications are: 2004- 19,592, 2003 - 19,585, and 2002 - 19,889.
(5) Agri-environment and afforestation figures show claims rather than participant numbers. In any year, participants may have no claims, 1 claim or several claims.
(6) Payments for LMCMS are made between May and October at the end of the scheme year: 2005 payments started in July 2006 and we expect ot pay arund £17m.
