1 2003 to 2005 figures are provisional
2 Increase in other subsidies is the result of the introduction of the new Less-Favoured Areas Support Scheme which was worth £61m in 2001. This replaces Hill Livestock Compensatory Allowances for cattle and sheep which were paid on headage basis and therefore considered as direct subsidies and included under agriculture activities.
3 From 2005 Other Payments and Subsidies includes Single Farm Payment ( SFP) which replaces most production related subsidies.
