Through the exploitation of ESD, local authorities are promoting leisure activities and linking these to local community health initiatives, in partnership with National Health Boards' strategies, for targeted customer groups.
Learning Centres throughout Scotland continues to grow, where Customers can access information and communications technology to help them develop PC skills, using a range of software packages, to assist achieving recognised qualifications including the European Computer Driving Licence ( ECDL). This is just one area where ESD contributes to the support of other national initiatives such as Individual Learning Accounts.
