    RESPONSES TO CONSULTATION

    Introduction

    1. The Scottish Executive issued a consultation paper 'Country of Origin of Beef in the Food Service Sector ' on 15 October 2005. The paper outlined a proposal to require the food service sector in Scotland actively to inform consumers in restaurants, canteens, cafés of the country or countries of origin of beef served. The consultation closed on 28 February 2006.
