INTRODUCTION
This list includes all publications authored by core departments of the Scottish Executive in 2004 which were received by the Scottish Executive Information and Library Service ( SEILS). It is fully indexed and is intended to provide all users with a comprehensive and accessible guide to the broad range of documents produced on behalf of the Scottish Executive.
Information about obtaining publications is detailed in the introductory pages of this document.

Since October 2004, Astron has been providing design, print, publishing and associated services to the Scottish Executive for the provision of all free and priced publications. As a part of this arrangement, Astron provides a full public dissemination service, bringing Scottish Executive publications into the public domain through the library and information network and through the retail book trade via Blackwell's Bookshop on South Bridge in Edinburgh.
In addition to Scottish Executive publications, Astron also publishes on behalf of the Scottish Parliament, Executive Agencies and Non Departmental Government Bodies.
