This includes chronic drinking or alcohol dependence, commonly referred to as 'alcoholism', as well as other harmful drinking such as binge drinking.

20 The only factor other than age which appears to have a significant relationship with whether respondents think the binge drinker should be embarrassed is living in an accessible rural area - these respondents are less likely than respondents in the four cities or remote rural areas to think the binge drinker should be embarrassed.
