1. As members are aware the VWU with the assistance of the Steering Group and the Training and Communications sub-group is producing generic guidance for the use of practitioners on the special measures provided for in the Act as well as booklets for child witnesses and their parents about what it means to be a witness and what is expected of witnesses in such a way as they will be relevant to both Crown and defence witnesses in criminal cases and to both witnesses of both parties in Children's Hearings court procedures.
2. The VWU is anxious that these publications should be jointly owned by all the statutory and non statutory bodies represented on the Steering Group and Training and Communications sub-group and would like this to be reflected by these publications being badged with the logos of the organisations concerned.
3. Members are invited to let the VWU know not later than 29 March whether they would be willing to allow their logos to be used in this way and, if so, to provide copies of their logos for incorporation in these publications.
