The current PCN Control Directive has been in place for over 30 years. During this period more has been learned about the biology of this pest, including the fact that its distribution has changed across the EU. There have also been changes to practices within the potato industry. A review has been carried out by the Commission to address these developments, which has resulted in a proposal to replace the current Directive.
