REVIEW OF 2004 COLLECTIONS BY IAC - ED
Purpose
1. For the Committee to receive feedback from IAC on how successful the various collections were during 2004 and to discuss.
Details
2. There were two main approaches to data collection during 2004. These were the traditional spreadsheet / paper collections and the SCOTXED process.
a) Traditional data collections

- 1st / 2nd / 3rd term leavers
- School Meal Survey
- School Openings and Closures
- School Costs
- Placing Requests
- Education Outwith School
- Teacher Vacancies
- School Estates Core Facts
- School Leaver Destinations
b) SCOTXED
- School and Pupil Census
- LA Staff Census
- Individual and School Level Staff Census and Teacher Flow
- Attendance, Absence and Exclusions
- 5-14 Attainment (mostly via ScotXed although some authorities provided paper forms).
c) SQA data
- Pre and Post Appeal transfer of attainment information
