COSLA, the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, is the representative voice of Scottish local government and also acts as the employers' association on behalf of all Scottish councils.
Scottish Retail Consortium (SRC)

The Scottish Retail Consortium (SRC) was launched in April 1999 as a retail trade association for the full range of retailers in Scotland, from the major high street retailers and supermarkets to a number of trade associations representing smaller retailers. As a sector, retailing in Scotland employs 252,000 people (one in ten of the workforce) in 28,700 outlets across Scotland, accounting for turnover estimated at 19 billion in 2002.

The British Property Federation is a long established and well respected trade association which represents to Government the interests of the property owning and investing industry. The BPF's strategy seeks to identify those aspects of the Government agenda where the property industry could make a real difference.
Scottish Chambers of Commerce (SCC)

The Scottish Chambers of Commerce is the umbrella organisation of the local Chambers of Commerce. It represents the common interests of Chambers at a national and international level. Collectively, Chambers in Scotland have an annual turnover of over 7.3 million and the current membership ranges from the country's largest companies to the smallest retail and professional operations. Together Scotland's Chambers provide well over half the private-sector jobs in Scotland.
Scottish Enterprise (SEnt)

Rated among the world's top economic development agencies, Scottish Enterprise is the main economic development agency for Scotland, covering 93 per cent of the population from Grampian to the Border. It consists of Scottish Enterprise and 12 Local Enterprise Companies. Working in partnership with the private and public sectors, they aim to secure the long-term future of the Scottish economy by making Scottish industries more competitive. Their priorities include commercialisation of academic ideas into good business opportunities, e-business, globalisation and economic inclusion. Scottish Enterprise is funded by the Scottish Executive.
Forum of Private Business in Scotland (FPB)

The Forum of Private Business, established in 1977, is a not-for-profit pressure group driven by its membership. The FPB offer a wide range of business solutions and benefits to help their members grow. They represent members business interests at local, national and European government levels and to key policy makers.
Federation of Small Businesses (FSB)

The FSB is a campaigning pressure group promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small firms. Formed in 1974, it has around 18,000 members across Scotland. Its lobbying arm applies pressure on MSPs, Ministers and the Scottish Executive, and puts the FSB viewpoint over to the media. The FSB is non-profit making and non-party political.
Boots Group

Boots are one of the best known retail names in the UK, providing health & beauty products and advice that enhance personal wellbeing. They employ around 75,000 people and operate in some 130 countries worldwide. As well as retailing, they have international sales and marketing operations and also develop and manufacture their own products.
