STANDARDS AND GUIDANCE
Section 1: About the Standards and Guidance
This guidance sets out the core standards to which all Care and Repair services in Scotland should operate and provides guidance on how services can ensure that they meet these standards. This document is intended for use by those providing Care and Repair services, managing agents and advisory group members, local authorities, clients and other key stakeholders. It is anticipated that this guidance will also be useful to other voluntary and public organisations providing similar services. The overall aim of the standards is to ensure that individuals accessing Care and Repair services are confident of the quality of assistance they will receive, wherever they are in Scotland.
The development of these standards has been driven and supported by the Scottish Executive. Consultation has been undertaken with Care and Repair services, local authorities, managing agents, client representative organisations and other representative bodies. It is anticipated that local authorities will seek to ensure that those providing Care and Repair services within their area meet the standards set out in this document. However, the standards leave a degree of flexibility which aims to enable services to tailor their activities to fit with the local context.
