THE FISHING VESSELS (SATELLITE - TRACKING DEVICES) ( SCOTLAND ) SCHEME 2004 SCOTLAND ) SCHEME 2004

The owners of Scottish based fishing vessels of over 15m in overall length are hereby invited to apply for a grant covering the costof procuringasatellite-tracking device obtained from an approved supplier. Grant funding will cover eligible costs associated with the supply and installation of satellite-tracking devices, as well as a 3 year warranty.

You are eligible to apply if, at the date the application is made, your vessel:

  • is registered in the UK as a fishing vessel under Section 8(5) of the Merchant Shipping (Registration, etc) Act 1995;
  • has, or had as at 30 July 2004 , a portof administration which is a port in Scotland ; and
  • is more than 15 metres in overall length.

Grant funding is only available for satellite -tracking devices supplied and installed by the Departments' approved supplier, A pplied Satellite T echnology (AST) Ltd. Vessel owners who decide to make alternative arrangements will not be entitled to a grant under this scheme.
